Careers in the Arts is a monthly lively lecture series that focuses on a wide range of professions including and beyond the practice of art. David Y. Chang is Frost Professor of Art at Florida International University. Classically trained in the Beaux-Arts tradition, his education includes the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, France; Cambridge University, England; the Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai, China, and more. He is the Founding Director of the Academy of Portrait and Figurative Art, and the Chair of the Florida Artists Group (FLAG-Area1) – Florida’s oldest and most prestigious professional artists association. With a visual arts education career spanning thirty years, Professor Chang will discuss his career journey and offer advice to aspiring artists. This event is free and open to the public.
