Join Kids In Distress (KID) from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Esplanade Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale for a full afternoon of family-friendly fun!
This year’s Ducktuga-themed festival will be filled with “quacky” activities in the KID Fun Zone including the KID Olympics, face painting, petting zoo, live entertainment, delicious food trucks, and more.
Then 40,000 rubber ducks will be dropped in the New River to race during the 17th Annual KID Duck Fest Derby presented by JM Family Enterprises, Inc.
You can buy entries in the race by forming “Duck Teams” or adopting individual ducks for $5 each for a chance to win one of our fabulous prizes including the grand prize of $10,000 cash. 100% of the proceeds of duck sales benefit 20,000+ children and families served by KID.

Since 1979, when KID was created as a shelter for abused and neglected children, it now possesses a five-acre multiple program campus in Fort Lauderdale, FL and a 4-acre campus featuring two family foster group homes in Southwest Ranches, FL. Our services include individual, family, and group therapy and counseling; preschool, aftercare and summer camp programs; recruitment, training, and support of foster/adoptive homes; and prevention, reunification, family preservation and maternal and child health services.
